Job Description: Maintenance Electrician
Position Overview:
The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for performing electrical installation, repair, and maintenance work in a variety of settings. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks, including but not limited to wiring, lighting systems, transformers, motors, and control panels.
2. Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions using appropriate testing devices and techniques.
3. Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
4. Collaborate with maintenance team members to address electrical issues and provide technical guidance or support.
5. Follow electrical codes, standards, and regulations to ensure compliance and maintain a safe working environment.
6. Keep accurate records of electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance activities, including documenting completed work, materials used, and time spent.
7. Assist in the development and implementation of electrical maintenance plans and schedules.
8. Provide guidance and support to junior technicians as required.
9. Respond to emergency electrical issues promptly and effectively.
10. Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and advancements in electrical systems and technologies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certification or apprenticeship in electrical trade is strongly preferred.
2. Proven experience as a Maintenance Electrician or similar role, demonstrating expertise in electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance.
3. In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, components, and troubleshooting techniques.
4. Proficiency in interpreting electrical blueprints, diagrams, and technical manuals.
5. Strong understanding of electrical codes, regulations, and safety practices.
6. Ability to use a wide range of electrical tools, equipment, and testing devices.
7. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve electrical issues.
8. Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
9. Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and provide technical guidance.
10. Physical stamina and ability to work in various settings, including confined spaces and heights.
11. Flexibility to work on-call and overtime as needed.
12. Valid electrical license or certification as required by local regulations.
